One Can See The Future Of Mexico In The Eyes Of Enrique Pena Nieto

The Partido Revolucionario Institutional (PRI) has picked Enrique Pena Nieto as their candidate to run for president in Mexico's 2012 election. Before he decided to run for president, he was the young governor of the State of Mexico from 2005 to 2011. Although politics is in his blood, so to speak, he has nevertheless studied, and on his own, acquired degrees in both law and business.

He helped lay the groundwork for his political career when he became a member of the PRI in 1984. When he started with the PRI, he was and instructor and later became Coordinator for the party's Parliamentary Group in the LV Legislation. At the same time, he was Chairman of the Political Coordination Board of the same legislature.

If you count the decade of the 90's to the year 2002, Nieto was working for the state government of Mexico for at least 10, maybe 12, years. He held various positions such as Government Administration Secretary, President of the Directive Council for the Social Security Institute, President of the Internal Council of Health Institute and Vice President of the Government Board for Integral Family Development System He became affiliated with the National Institute of Public Administration and the Administrative Council for Decentralized Public Agencies.

Nieto exemplified what it means to be dedicated to politics by also being a political advisor to the PRI in addition to everything else. His encompassing administrative experience in the state government of Mexico and his active involvement in the activities of his party strengthened his political career. Subsequently, Pena Nieto made his strategic move towards electoral positions.

In 2004, he participated in his party's internal nominations for governorship of the state of Mexico. He had to advance past many other candidates. The PRI nominated him as their gubernatorial candidate, in February 2005.

Elections for the state of Mexico were held on July 3, 2005. He was a clear winner with 49 percent of the vote. Five thousand people watched him become the official governor of the state of Mexico on September 15, 2005 at the Morelos Theater in Toluca.

More than anything he wanted to change things in the areas of The environment, energy reform and sustainable development and the acceleration of educational reform in support of youth empowerment and employment generation His collaboration with the government of Mexico City during his term as state governor to combat issues related to safety, insecurity and transport between the two political entities was a notable feat. His success as governor in helping the people of the state of Mexico helped him obtain the presidential candidacy.

He closed the door on his job as governor and opened the door to the presidency. Coincidentally, Senator Manlio Fabio Beltrones who is the only other candidate for the party's 2012 electoral ticket withdrew from the race. With Beltrone out of the way, Nieto had no one to stop him from obtaining the nomination.

Despite his seemingly meteoric rise to power, Pena Nieto is considered to be the next president of Mexico. Since the announcement of his candidacy, he has been leading mock presidential polls against contenders Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador of the leftist PRD party and Josefina Vazquez Mota of the ruling party PAN. The official election for Mexico's 80 million people will be held on July 1 of this year.

The PRI has confidence in their popular candidate, Enrique Pena Nieto. His concern and good work for the people of Mexico have laid the groundwork for the perception of Pena Nieto to be that of a democratic president unlike past presidents who were more like dictators. He thinks that he knows how to help Mexico shed its troubles and become the great nation it should be.
